Tree Removal
Ketchikan, Alaska
Photos by Chris Wilhelm

Chris Wilhelm photographed the removal of a large tree from the north side of the bypass Thursday at the intersection of Third and Washington.

The middle section of the tree had some core rot. The main part, about 15 feet of it, was severely rotten inside and surprised the faller that it looked so solid according to Wilhelm.

There was about four inches of good wood on the back side before getting to the rot. In the photographs you can see the middle section being loaded and prepared for a ride to Hoonah where it will be delivered to Sealaska.
