Ketchikan, Alaska - The Southeast Alaska Petroleum Resource Organization (SEAPRO) has divided Southeast Alaska into 9 geographic zones. In each zone, SEAPRO has pre-positioned oil spill response equipment and response teams. The teams provide immediate response to an oil spill from a member company.

According to SEAPRO's web site, a SEAPRO Response Team is made up of 5 people - 1 Team Leader and 4 Responders. The size of the team allows the Team Leader and other Supervisors to maintain a manageable span of control during emergency responses. There are 86 response team members for Ketchikan and Metlakatla.

According to the SEAPRO web site, the next response team training
scheduled for Ketchikan is an 8 Hr HAZWOPER refresher on March 11, 2003.
