56th Annual King Salmon Derby Kicks Off May 24th

Ketchikan, Alaska - It's derby time again and the 56th Annual King Salmon Derby presented by Ketchikan CHARR is scheduled to kick off on May 24th. Derby days are May 24-25-26, May 31, June 1 and June 7-8.

Ticket are $30 for an individual and $50 for a family and can be purchased at Tongass Trading Company, Lighthouse Grocery, Wal-Mart, South Tongass Service, Knudson Cove Marina, Murray Pacific, and Carrs.

Weigh in stations will be at Knudson Cove, Bar Harbor and Mountain Point. Over $42,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded, including $10,056.00 for the largest King Salmon. A $500 prize will be awarded daily. Over thirty different cash and prize packages will be awarded to successful fishermen at the FREE Awards Ceremony on June 13 beginning at 6:00 PM at the Ketchikan Entertainment Center.
