I Can Cope, A Cancer Information & Support Workshop, To Be Offered

Ketchikan, AK - Following the American Cancer Society's "I Can Cope" program, a cancer information and support workshop will be provided free of charge to individuals with cancer and their family members. Co-sponsored by First City Council on Cancer and Ketchikan

KIC Fourth Floor Conference Room
General Hospital (KGH), the all-day workshop on Saturday, March 1, 8:30am to 5pm, in the KIC Fourth Floor Conference Room, will feature an array of medical and supportive professionals covering a wide variety of topics of real interest to persons living with a medical diagnosis of cancer.

"We have brought together a top-notch group of experts to share their knowledge; participants will have the opportunity to ask their questions in a setting where physicians, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, spiritual and psychological professionals will be available to provide answers." Topics such as cancer treatment, chemotherapy and side effects, spirituality and grief, massage therapy and exercise, communication between patient and health care team, advance directives and KGH Cancer Registry will be covered. KGH will provide a free lunch as well.
