As in the past, all local quilters,
regardless of whether they are members of The Rainy Day Quilters
Guild, or not, are cordially invited to participate in the annual
quilt show. Entering a quilt for display is FREE. Entry forms
are available at The Silver Thimble, The Country Cellar and Ketchikan
Five and Dime. The entry form gives pertinent details, including
phone numbers for help with any questions that may arise. Entry
forms must be returned to The Silver Thimble by February 5, 2003,
for the quilt description to be included in the Show All quilts being entered in the show may be dropped off at The Plaza show location on the 2nd floor between the hours of 12 noon to 7 pm on February 12th, only. "Quilting in the Rain 12" will be open to the public free, on February 15, from 10 am to 8 pm and on February 16, from 12 to 4 pm on the 2nd floor of The Plaza. This year's event
Another special attraction
of the show this year is the Show Raffle Quilt. The Rainy Day
Quilters Guild, a non-profit organization, in Ketchikan, Alaska
is offering Raffle tickets for an heirloom quality queen/king
size Quilt with a design similar to a "Dear Jane Quilt".
Art enthusiasts and quilters everywhere will appreciate the beauty
of its timeless design and the exquisite quilting done on this
nearly all-blue quilt. Tickets to win this quilt (winner does
not need to be present) are now on sale at $5.00 per ticket,
or $20.00 for 5 tickets. The Quilt may be viewed on-line at www.Rainydayquilters.org/events.html.

The drawing for the Raffle will take place on February 16, at
the end of the annual Quilt Show. Proceeds from the Raffle are
used to promote new learning opportunities for the members and
to further the numerous Community Service activities in which
the Guild participates. Community Service activities of the Guild
have benefited organizations such as WISH, The Pioneer Home,
The First City Cancer Auction, The Salvation Army, the Department
of Youth and Family Services and others in Ketchikan.
